Beaches
Gennadi pebbles and sand, stretches for miles, good for beachcombing, safe swimming. Just a 5 minute walk from the apartment. Great taverna’s.
Glystra about 10km, 10mins by car, the bus also stops here. it’s a sandy beach with secluded dunes, there are pedaloes etc for hire, a cafeteria. Directions turn left, out of the village, onto the main road, then after about 9km turn right after the signs for Lindian Resort.
Lardos is just a minute further up the road, has a long sandy beach boarded with small hotels and tavernas.
Kiotari this stretches down to Gennadi and carries on along the coast, sandy in parts. Large hotels at first then some good taverna’s
Plimiri long stretch of sand, you get small fishing boats coming in with their catch to unload. Small cafeteria.
Prasonisi This is where the Aegean from the north meets the Mediterranean from the south, one side is calm the other rough. Sandy beach but windy, lots of windsurfing, a few taverna’s.
St Pauls Bay on the south side of Lindos, small very sheltered beach, gets very busy in high season.
There are lots of beaches to discover along both coast lines, the sea on the west coast of the island tends to be a bit rougher that the east side. As you drive along the road you will see small signs with beach names on, some are just rough tracks down to beach, drive carefully and you could have a beach all to your self.
Boat Trips
Boat trips There are lots of boat trips from Rhodes town, the marine is easy to find, opposite the main taxi stand. You can visit Symi, Tilos and even Turkey, most of the boats have boards telling you where and what they do.
