Gennadi Local Area

The village is located on the south east side of Rhodes. Its is approx  64kms from Rhodes Town and about the same from the airport. Gennadi is mainly agricultural, it is a working village so does not close down when the tourist season ends. The residents are warm and friendly. The beach stretches from  Kiotari to Plimiri, the beach is mainly pebbles but does have some sand, the sea is deep, blue and clean with tavernas spread along. The village is about 1.5km from the mountains and hills, well worth the drive for the spectacular
scenery, if you hire a car. 

Amenities

The supermarket is found at the top of the road, the supemarket services a lots of the surrounding villages, so you will find most things, and a good butchers at the back of the shop. The bakers is to the side of the supermarket, makes delicious bread and very good cakes, next door to the bakers you will find the vegetable shop. The other side of the supermarket you will find the pharmacy. Further along you will find Mamma’s taverna and more cafes/bars. Most of the tavern’s, cafes and bars are found in the streets on the opposite side of the village to Gennadi Court. Sergios,run by Poppy and her husband, is situated along from the bus stop and ATM machine, with the newsagent and Post Office a little further down. The 24hours medical centre is on the main road a couple of minutes walk away. The beach and more tavernas ar a 5 minutes walk away, just head for the sea.
